Phenom Poker launch recap and what's around the corner!
Our first week since launching Ring Games is now in the books and what a week its been! We wanted to take a moment to share a recap and also let you know what’s in the pipeline.
Launch week was not without its share of low points which included finding some bugs in the platform. First off, we want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while the team jumped on resolving issues including the most critical issue - users funds getting stuck in the Table Contracts. If this happened to you, we want to offer our deepest apologies - we know not having access to your money is not ok, even if for a short while, and we take it very seriously. The good news is when this happens your funds are completely safe. We use Smart Contracts on the Polygon blockchain to hold funds while they are in play and we saw some issues when either joining or leaving the tables (and in some cases during Rebuy) where our system was not able to stay in sync with the blockchain. We have made some patches and are seeing the issue happen much less and we will continue to make updates to make this issue go away entirely.
Building a new poker site is no small challenge. Players want to see a good variety of available games at all times of the day. We’re grateful to have an amazing group of Phenom Ambassadors that we’ve been willing to share the felt with our community even at very low stakes. How often do you get to battle with High Stakes pro Ben Heath at 0.50/1.00 NLH? Or play a fun low stakes mix with Eric Baldwin? Alec Torelli has been playing daily on his Conscious Poker tables and even Brian Rast has been spotted playing some different games. Come and chat and chill with our Team Pros at a variety of games and stakes!
One of the most excited parts of playing on Phenom Poker is the ability to earn PHNM via our Rewards Program. Players play and earn actual ownership in Phenom Poker and even receive a weekly distribution of the revenue that Phenom Poker generates. After our first round of rewards distribution we now have 381 unique wallet holders of PHNM! Pretty cool to see. We expect a lot more traffic in the coming days and weeks and we can’t wait to see the community claim more tokens, further decentralizing ownership within the poker community.
We’ve been listening intently to community feedback this first week and we’ve received a ton of useful feedback so thank you to everyone who’s been letting us know what’s up on Discord and Telegram. Here are some of our top priorities coming up:
We know crypto can be a bit daunting for those new to it and the biggest ask we’ve received by far is more deposit options. So we’ve moved this to the top of the list of next features and are already building this. We are hoping to have some more options as early as next week. These options will include major stablecoins and some large cap tokens from major EVM chains like Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, Binance Smart Chain, and others. After that we will also look into adding Bitcoin and Solana as deposit options to keep an eye out for the announcements.
We’ve already built a desktop client that needs to undergo some final rounds of testing and we hope to have that available for download in the next couple weeks. We know browser-based play comes with challenges (but can also be pretty cool) so look out for the release!
We know offering MTTs is a major necessity for many of you to come play at Phenom so this is already in the works! We are working on building out the functionality as well as designing an exciting initial tournament schedule. We want to hear what you want! Be sure to join the community and let us know what you want to see. You can also submit ideas for features you want on our Product Roadmap page as well as up or down vote other ideas.
We are working on a refactored mobile experience that will vastly improve the current design and include better sizing, betting shortcuts, and removing some of the bugs we’ve found over the last week.
A friendly reminder to all you PHNM grinders out there - the price of PHNM is fixed for the first 4 weeks and then has caps for the following 12 weeks. Now is the time to earn as many tokens as possible because later the price of PHNM may be much higher, which would result in your PHNM holdings becoming much more valuable. If Phenom Poker continues to grow, the price will never be this low again so join us in building the first ever community first poker site!

Cheers and good luck!
