A new kind of collectible has arrived at the tables. Throwables are items you launch across the felt at another player: a tomato after a brutal river, a snowball for someone who's run ice cold all night, a beer to say cheers after a big pot.
What's a throwable?
A throwable is a collectible you own and fire at another seat. Each one plays as a short three-part animation:
- Spawn. It appears at your avatar.
- Fly. It travels across the table on its own path. Some arc, some bounce, some loop, some vanish and reappear right above their target, and some drop straight out of the sky.
- Land. It hits the other player's avatar with its own impact: a splat, a clang, a shatter or a swarm.
Every player at the table sees the throw, observers included.
How to throw one
- Click your own avatar at the table to open the social picker.
- Pick the Throwables tab. Everything you own is there, with the ones you've used most recently first.
- Pick a throwable. Every player you can hit lights up with a purple ring.
- Point at a target. The ring turns red, a crosshair locks on and a dotted line traces the exact path your throwable will fly.
- Click to throw.
On a phone, just tap the target and it goes straight away. To change your mind, press Escape, tap anywhere else or tap your own avatar.
You can throw at anyone holding a seat, including players who are sitting out. You can still throw while you're sitting out yourself, as long as you're in a seat. If you're alone at the table, your throwables stay greyed out until someone sits down.
Rarity matters
Each throwable comes in rarities from Uncommon to Legendary, and you can see a throwable's rarity from the colour ring around it in the picker. Rarer throwables hit harder on screen:
- Bigger. The throwable itself is larger.
- More of them. Rarer throwables can fire a volley: several in quick succession, landing all around your target.
- More flair. Expect brighter trails, more glow and more shake when they land.
- Ready sooner. Higher rarities have a shorter cooldown, so you can throw the same item again sooner.
Cooldowns
Throwables are meant for the big moments, not for spamming the table. After a throw:
- That throwable goes on its own cooldown at that table.
- Your other throwables are locked for 60 seconds at every table you're playing. The Throwables tab shows a ring counting down until you can throw again.
Emojis and emotes have their own separate timers, so you can still react while your throwables reload.
Throwables are never used up. Throw one as often as its cooldown allows and it stays in your collection.
Where to get them
Throwables come out of chests, alongside avatar items, table looks, emojis and emotes. You get chests from playing, including from Achievements. Your throwables appear in your inventory on the Avatar page with a NEW tag, ready to use at your next table. There's nothing to equip: every throwable you own is in the picker automatically.
Duplicates level up. Collect ten copies of the same throwable and you can trade them up for the next rarity, which means a bigger throw, more flair and a shorter cooldown.
Not your thing?
You can hide throwables. Go to Settings › Appearance › Cosmetic Visibility and turn off Show throwables, and you won't see them flying across your tables. It's a personal setting: it only changes what you see, and everyone else keeps playing as normal.
